Viskoelasic foam
Memory foam is made from polyurethane with additional
chemicals that increase viscosity level and allow it to
modul itself to the weight
and shape of a human body. Visco-elastic polyurethane foam
is thermo-active foam that eacts to temperture and pressure
moulds itself, "memoirises" the shape and then returns to
its orgina position, thuns distributing the weight
originally developed by pressure to a spine. Memory foam was
originally developed by NASA, later was used for medical
purpoases, but recently
it has become widely availabe for mattress production due to
its exceptional qualities. It also referred to as
therapeutic for it has been in medical use for years,
especially in prevention decubitus ulcers.
Caltex produces viscoelastic (memory) foam
with different densities from 50 kg/m3 up to 100
kg/m3. |
